The Columbia Business Times ran an article about David Townsend, CEO of Farmers National Title Insurance and his influence on recent legislation the applies to the land title insurance industry. Delta Systems built and continues to expand a title insurance policy generation and tracking system for Agents National Title Insurance (www.agentstitle.com). The system will soon be expanded to handle claims, voids, enhanced automated agent reporting, and other features necessary to comply with the recent legislation.

Update: Farmers National Title Insurance was renamed to Agents National Title Insurance in January of 2009. This article now references their new website.

Shelter Insurance (http://www.shelterinsurance.com) needed a new system built that allowed all of their agents to purchase agent supplies like business cards, brochures, paper, pens, mailers, and all that other fun stuff that insurance agents keep on hand.  The Agent Business Center (www.shelterabc.com) helps agents place the order and is used by Shelter to pick the items out of inventory, track the progress of customized items in their printshop, communicates with the agent when items are shipped, provides shipment tracking via FedEx, UPS, and eventually DHL.

Delta uses WordPress as our blogging tool of choice currently. We found it limiting, however, that we couldn’t put web links in the title field of the blog. If we reference a site, we wanted the reader to be able to click on a link that takes them to the site without having to go into the blog and read the story to find the link. Additional improvements were made to allow Delta to write a single blog that will appear on the homepage at deltasys.com as well as automatically appear in our portfolio of work with correct URLs and text in the graphics lightbox. Matt Bernier found a plug-in that got close. He then improved upon it in several ways. He then notified the WordPress community and the original author about the improvements. Internet people, you’re welcome .

The Columbia Area United Way asked Delta Systems to donate services towards a new website design as well as to provide ongoing content update services. Delta was happy to do so. To be consistent with print materials distributed at their awards luncheon, Delta called on a creative partner agency – Woodruff Sweitzer. Woodruff Sweitzer’s Pam Ogles was helpful in providing the original graphics to expedite the web updates. After some tweaks and additions to get the look a bit more web friendly, Delta incorporated Expression Engine – a content management system (CMS) to simplify the update process as well as empower the Columbia Area United Way staff to make their own content updates if they so choose.

We ran into some “client problems” with another project that Brad has been helping us with. He’s a trooper and we’ve really appreciated his help above and beyond the programming.

The MO Association of Realtors (MAR) needed to create letters to send to all committee members to inform each person of the beginning and ending term on all the committees on which they are serving. This mail-merged document incorporated data from Rapattoni. Rapattoni’s out-of-the-box solution was inadequate. Delta Systems was able to assist the MAR to get exactly what they needed out of their existing system.
