Diamond Pet Food Dealer Locator goes live on DiamondPet.com

January 22, 2008

Diamond Pet Foods needed to improve and update the capabilities of their online pet food dealer location services. Delta Systems implemented a city lookup as well as a zip code lookup system that will allow website visitors to find stores in which Diamond Pet Foods products are sold. Simply enter a zip code and how far you are willing to travel.

Dealer Locator Example Google Map
The system will place a series of pushpins on the map. Clicking the pushpin will open a bubble with contact information for that dealer. The maps are fully integrated with Google Maps and all the zooming, panning, dragging, and other features are available – making it easy to get directions to or from each dealer location.

Visit the Diamond Pet Food Dealer Locator now.
Check out Diamond Pet Foods at www.DiamondPet.com

Previously the dealer locator only allowed a visitor to click on a State to see a list of all dealers in that state. In some larger states, this meant hundreds of locations were returned. There was no additional filtering allowed.

In the past, Delta Systems built a system to handle customer calls, online data collection, and case management needs pertaining to a product recall.

The Central Missouri Food Bank’s website has been refreshed and updated. Delta Systems installed Expression Engine to help with the content management. Expression Engine empowers the CMFB staff to update and maintain their own site without having to call Delta.  Delta also redesigned the graphics on the site; the goal was to retain the general look and feel (same graphics and color scheme) while incorporating more advanced technologies to improve usability.  The CMFB also wanted to streamline and better organize the content that was being presented.

Delta can handle anything and everything related to websites.  And hey, lucky you, it costs nothing to find out how Delta Systems can help your organization.  Give us a call today.  573-442-9855.

January 3, 2008

On January 2, 2008, Delta Systems expanded into Denver, Colorado. The office will mainly serve development fulfillment needs for the main office in Columbia, MO.

Delta Systems’ owner Steve Powell remarked, “We see a lot of value in having a dozen employees in the same place. The energies and momentum created in a working office have intangible, yet positive aspects that cannot be ignored. However, reality must also not be ignored; having good people that work well together as a team is something that should be protected and encouraged – regardless of location.”
A myriad of free technology solutions available today allow Delta Systems to work closely with their first branch office, as well as creative partners based in Denver, Columbus, and Atlanta, as well as a number of companies in Columbia, MO.

The Business Times Company and Delta Systems are pleased to announce a new partnership that will bring the Columbia Business Times’ online presence to the next level.

Launching with the January 26, 2008 issue, http://www.ColumbiaBusinessTimes.com will bring readers what they’ve been asking for:

  1. A PDF version of the ENTIRE printed paper (fully searchable)
  2. All stories will stay ONLINE FOREVER. Permanent links will be used – no more changing from issue to issue
  3. The FULL CONTENT of printed articles (all pictures, graphics, etc) will be online
  4. SEARCH for any string of text in any posted article
  5. PRINT an article replaces the links with the web addresses (since you can’t “click” on paper yet, you can read the address)
  6. A fully INTERACTIVE CALENDAR of events in a calendar format (not just a list)
  7. LINKS LINKS LINKS to local companies, organizations, and individuals mentioned in articles (without losing your place in the article)
  8. Like how the author wrote this story? Click their name on the byline to see a list of ALL articles they’ve written.
  9. Web-only articles, including last minute news, will be posted
  10. Web-enhanced content (articles that had to be trimmed to fit on paper will have the full version online as well as last minute updates to articles after the print version goes to press)
  11. Author and Editor Blogs
  12. Full listings of information that may not fit in the print version such as Deeds of Trust, Bankruptcies, New Businesses, and other Public Record information

Also of interest:

  1. the CBT is now one of the 4,500+ news sources feeding Google News
  2. CBT pages in Google Search results are now much more intuitive and readable (this will improve over time as Google reindexes the system)
  3. There are now a plethora of online advertising opportunities, including LOCAL ads you are interested in (we hate Netflix popup ads too)

The previous system only allowed posts in a fixed number of categories as well as a maximum of one image per article. This severely limited the quantity and quality of content the could be delivered on http://www.ColumbiaBusinessTimes.com.

A new database system will be employed that will allow complete creative control of article content. Authors and editors will now have the ability to post individual blogs as often as they like. We can keep going, but think you get the point. :-)

Does your newspaper, magazine, newsletter, catalog, or other print publication need to be online?
