Matt Bernier, a website developer with Delta Systems, jumped to action when he noticed a plume of smoke rising from a neighborhood as he drove up Chapel Hill Road and didn’t hear any sirens. Luckily no one was in the house, but Bernier did save their computer.
The Columbia Daily Tribune and KMIZ ran stories on the incident.

Brad Griffith joined the Delta Systems team today. He brings extensive database design, web layout, system framework implementation and extension experience to the table. Brad is an expert in PHP and has contributed significant extensions to the Swat framework designed by silverorange.com. Linux, Windows, MySQL, .Net, etc.

DeltaNews is sporadically published by Delta Systems Group to make everyone aware of relevant technology news as well as what is going on at Delta Systems.
Delta Systems Group, Inc. has been named a 2005 Small Business of the Year Award Finalist at the Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Membership Breakfast and at the 2005 Small Business Week Awards Ceremony held May 5th at the Stoney Creek Inn & Conference Center.
This is the first nomination for Delta Systems Group under our new owner, Steve Powell, but Delta has been nominated before. In 1992 the company–then known simply as Delta Systems, and chaired by our founder, Ms. Debin Benish–went on to win the award for Small Business of the Year in the Services category.
To qualify as a Small Business of the Year Finalist, the business must be a current member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, have less than 50 full-time personnel, and have been in business for at least two years. Candidates are nominated by their peers, after which they file a formal application to be considered for the Award. A panel of judges from the business community selects the recipients.
We are delighted that a majority of Finalists are also in our family of clients. We’re pleased to be trusted to create and support the technology that runs their business. We are delighted to inform you that Steve Powell has taken ownership of Delta Systems Group. This is the first change in ownership since Ms. Debin Benish founded the company in 1986. As the needs of Columbia businesses have changed, so have Delta Systems’ offerings to meet those demands. In the 1980s and 1990s, Delta Systems focused on software training and network support – providing classes for hundreds of organizations and individuals throughout the community. We have since grown to provide software and Internet development services in addition to our top-notch network support. As always, if you just need some computer or software questions answered, we can do that too!
But don’t take our word for it; Recently, the Columbia Business Times wrote that Delta Systems is “one of the area’s premier providers of computing solutions.” We are also happy to provide an extensive list of references from other companies that needed the exact same solutions that your company needs.
