Delta Systems Group was one of several organizations honored at a luncheon to celebrate the conclusion of the 2003 Missouri Tigers Score Against Hunger campaign for the Central Missouri Food Bank. Steve Powell accepted the “Super Top Cat” contribution recognition directly from MU Tiger head coach Gary Pinkel. This year’s keepsake was a signed and framed photo of Coach Pinkel from the 2003 MU vs. Nebraska game in which MU defeated Nebraska for the first time in 25 years.
Powell remarked, “It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized for the work we do for the food bank. But it is not necessary. We are happy to help others in need in a way that capitalizes on our strengths. We enjoy helping the Food Bank staff more productively serve the community at large.”
Delta Systems Group helps the Central Missouri Food Bank in a myriad of ways including network maintenance and support, database development and improvements, as well as daily updates to their website located at www.centralmofoodbank.org
The 2003 campaign raised $233,000 – which will provide over 3,500,000 meals to those in need in 31 counties across Missouri. The luncheon also celebrated another milestone – with the 2003 contribution, the campaign passed the $2 million and 30 million meals mark. To commemorate this amazing accomplishment, Peggy Kirkpatrick, director of the Central Missouri Food Bank, presented Coach Pinkel with a framed picture of a tiger to share with and inspire his team.
