Delta Systems is a US-based custom software engineering firm with leadership based in Missouri, Kansas, and Arizona. We build and modernize business-critical software for B2B companies with 15–100 employees across the United States. Our team delivers custom AI agents, AI/LLM integrations, Ruby on Rails modernization, MVP development, and fractional CTO services. Most engagements are staffed with five or fewer team members: the same people from scoping through delivery.

Who We Are

At Delta Systems, we're software engineers, solution architects, and technical strategists. But more importantly, we're the kind of people who care whether the thing we built actually worked for you six months later.

Delta Systems builds and modernizes business-critical web and mobile products for US-based companies. We have deep roots in Ruby on Rails, and a full-stack skill set that includes React, React Native, Python, Laravel, and AWS. We've been at this for years, which means we've seen most of the ways software projects go sideways, and we've built our process around preventing them.

What makes us different isn't a methodology or a tech stack. It's how we show up: low ego, high accountability, and a genuine interest in the outcome, not just the deliverable.

Our Leaders

Jake Sheafer, CEO

Jake didn't come up through engineering. He came up through the business side, which turns out to be a pretty useful perspective for running a software company.

He started in traditional media, leading a digital transformation for a print publication group and building an in-house development team from scratch. That experience taught him early that custom software isn't a support function: it's the engine.

At OrderUp, he scaled the business to facilitate over 5,000 deliveries per week before ultimately selling it to GrubHub, another early proof that well-built software, applied to the right problem at the right time, could change how an entire industry operated.

After a successful exit from media in 2018, Jake turned his focus entirely to software development, investing in and ultimately leading Delta Systems. Today, Delta Systems stands as a testament to his commitment to technology and its transformative power.

Justin Edwards, CIO

Justin has spent over 13 years doing the work that most consultants only advise on. He started by building and selling his own consulting firm, and that experience gave him something most engineers never develop: a real understanding of what it costs a business when software fails, slows down, or scales badly. That commercial grounding shapes how he thinks about every technical problem he touches.

At Delta, Justin works directly with founders, CTOs, and technical leads on the complex, systemic challenges that don't have tidy answers.

Outside of Delta Systems, Justin supports StriveDB, a SaaS platform built for victim services organizations that require airtight data security and straightforward reporting. He also co-hosts the SaaS That App podcast with Delta's Head of Engineering, Aaron Marchbanks.

Aaron Marchbanks. Head of Engineering

Aaron leads the engineering organization, setting technical standards, managing client relationships, and making sure what gets built actually maps to what clients need.

His superpower, as he'd put it, is people leadership: turning a group of skilled developers into a team that communicates clearly, moves decisively, and ships work worth shipping. He's also co-host of the SaaS That App podcast alongside Justin.

How the Delta Systems team works

We've refined this over a long time, and the short version is: we treat your project like it matters, because it does.

Discovery and planning

We start by understanding your business goals, not just your backlog. Before we write a line of code, we align on what you're trying to accomplish, what's blocking progress today, and what success looks like in three to six months. Decisions and assumptions get documented. Surprises later are usually the result of skipping this part early.

Design and prototyping

Design and engineering work together from day one. We build early prototypes, get real usability feedback, and make UX decisions before they become expensive engineering problems to untangle later.

Development

We ship in sprints and deliver incremental value throughout — not just at the end. Code gets peer-reviewed and documented. Tests get written where they actually provide leverage. And we don't ship work we wouldn't want to maintain ourselves.

Testing and quality assurance

Quality isn't one person's job at Delta — it's a team responsibility. Every release goes through structured QA, regression prevention, and edge-case validation. The goal is that you can launch with confidence, not fingers crossed.

Launch and ongoing support

We stick around after go-live. Launch support, rollout monitoring, continued development, long-term maintenance; many of our clients have been with us for years. That's not an accident. It's what happens when the relationship is built on outcomes rather than just getting the project across the finish line.

Is Delta Systems the right fit for you?

We work best with US-based companies that are building or modernizing a product worth scaling, and who want a partner that's invested in whether it succeeds, not just whether it ships.

The best way to find out if we're a match is a direct conversation. Tell us what you're working on and we'll give you an honest read on whether we're the right team for it.
